Faulty Lead Professor

A proud New Orleans native, psychology doctoral student, educator, and wellness entrepreneur, Jada Carter is leading the charge for equity in mental health. As Faculty Lead with PASI, she brings heart, healing, and higher learning to every student experience. Known as @DaMindDoc, she blends mental health expertise with cultural insight to mentor students, facilitate wellness-centered reflections, and promote global service rooted in integrity, compassion, and care. Jada participated in the PASI Alternative Winter Break Service-Learning Program in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2024, further strengthening her commitment to global education, cultural exchange, and community engagement. Her mission is to create spaces where students can grow, lead, and recognize their worth—wherever they are in the world.

Tissan Young

Tissan Young

Faculty Program Assistant & Coordinator

Tissan Young is an international education professional and PASI Fellow who has served in Liberia (2017), Senegal (2018 and 2020), Tanzania (2023), and Kenya (2024), supporting program leadership and cross-cultural engagement. Passionate about youth development, he volunteers with orphanages and secondary schools, mentoring students and promoting educational opportunities. Tissan also aspires to create and distribute an original comic book series that inspires young people through creativity, leadership, and cultural understanding.

(PASI), where he leads the organization’s student service-learning programs, leadership development initiatives, and educational travel experiences across Africa. He is committed to creating transformative global learning opportunities that empower students through cultural immersion, community engagement, and international leadership development.

USA Domestic Liaison and USA to Africa Coordinator

A Spelman College graduate, she is a USA–Africa Program Coordinator, educator, and community leader dedicated to building meaningful international partnerships. After participating in an Alternative Spring Break service program in Tanzania, she continues to advance global engagement while serving as an educator with Oakland School's Fayetteville Early Education program. Her work reflects a commitment to education, cultural exchange, and community empowerment.
